There’s exciting news from Breckenridge where Vail Resorts have announced they will be opening 543 acres of new ski area in the region known as Peak 6.
Breckenridge was already a popular choice with British holidaymakers, with a large ski area, suitable for all ability levels.
The new development will give the resort five high peaks to offer skiing and snowboarder to guests.
The Peak 6 development is the first new ski terrain expansion on National Forest System land in Colorado since 2008. It is also the first at Breckenridge since 2002 and the Peak 7 expansion.
The project will include 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain and will be served by a high-speed, six-man chair and additional chairlift. It should be open for the 2013-2014 ski season.
