The Bubble Lift Graveyard: where bubble lifts go when they die…

Have you ever wondered what happens to all the old bubble lifts in ski resorts when they get replaced?

Thanks to MH2 Ski – a ski school in the Three Valleys – we now know.

The Bubble Lift Graveyard

They recently posted this picture on Twitter of a bubble lift graveyard they spotted in Taninges, near Morzine.

We can see that at least one is from Alpe d’Huez and apparently the yellow ones were once in service in Meribel.

Bric et Broc, Taninges

We understand the name of the retailer is Bric et Broc and that they specialise in selling old bubble lifts.  The going rate is apparently €4000-6000 though, so be prepared to dig deep, or be good at negotiating!

Cheaper alternatives do come to market from time to time.  These bubbles from Les 2 Alpes were on offer at just £650 for unrefurbished models.  These ones from Courchevel were going for €4o00.

Alternatively you could work for Google – this is from their office in Zurich:
