We regularly bring you news of new lifts and changes in ski resorts, but it\u2019s not often that a ski lift gets designed by a company like Porsche!<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s what\u2019s happening in Alpe d\u2019Huez<\/a> this winter. Technically the new gondola is in Vaujany rather than Alpe d\u2019Huez where \u20ac21 million has been spent on upgrading the lifts and pistes.<\/p>\n

The piece de resistance is the new Porsche-designed Enversin gondola. The eight-seater\u2019s all-black cabins will open this December and cost almost \u20ac6 million.<\/p>\n

There will also be a new piste extending the La Vaujaniate run to help improve the way skiers descend the hill on the Montfrais section of the ski area.<\/p>\n

New ‘Alpine Coaster’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Other improvements in Alpe d\u2019Huez for this winter will see a new luge, or \u2018Alpine Coaster\u2019. If you\u2019ve never tried one of these, we highly recommend it.<\/p>\n

The new luge in the Les Bergers area of resort will be similar to those already existing in Les Saisies, Chamonix<\/a> and Les Menuires<\/a>.<\/p>\n
