{"id":1404,"date":"2018-08-08T12:11:16","date_gmt":"2018-08-08T12:11:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1404"},"modified":"2018-08-08T12:13:18","modified_gmt":"2018-08-08T12:13:18","slug":"road-world-cycling-championships-innsbruck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/2018\/08\/road-world-cycling-championships-innsbruck\/","title":{"rendered":"Road World Cycling Championships coming to Innsbruck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cycling\u2019s annual Road World Cycling Championships is coming to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/austria\">Austrian Alps<\/a> next month, as it is hosted in the Austrian Tirol from 23-30 September 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>World Cycling Championships in Austria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Innsbruck will act as host city for the Worlds, which is an eight-day event, with the world\u2019s best athletes competing in three different disciplines, including the Individual Time Trial, the Team Time Trial and the traditional Road Race. World Champions are crowned in each discipline.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from around 1000 cyclists, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.innsbruck-tirol2018.com\/\">World Championships<\/a> will also attract nearly 500,000 spectators and around 250 million people are expected to follow the action on TV as the world\u2019s best road riders battle it out for the right to wear the famous Rainbow Jersey.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2018 UCI Road World Championships Innsbruck-Tirol\" width=\"510\" height=\"287\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fWTNwF4oWps?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>All races finish in Innsbruck<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ski resorts that feature along the route of races include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/obergurgl\">Obergurgl<\/a>, Alpbach, Kuftstein and of course all the races finish in Innsbruck.<\/p>\n<p>The five Road Races will start from from either Kufstein or Rattenberg to Innsbruck, where they will then complete one or several laps of a loop known as the Olympic Course.
