{"id":1690,"date":"2020-07-01T10:14:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-01T10:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1690"},"modified":"2020-07-02T09:14:22","modified_gmt":"2020-07-02T09:14:22","slug":"plans-for-new-orelle-to-val-thorens-gondola-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/2020\/07\/plans-for-new-orelle-to-val-thorens-gondola-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"New Orelle to Val Thorens gondola delayed to 2021\/22"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UPDATE (July 2020)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After \u20ac40m of work and eighteen months of construction so far, the opening date for the new gondolas linking Orelle to Cime de Caron in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/val-thorens\">Val Thorens<\/a> has been delayed to the 2021\/22 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doppelmayr has released their first images for how the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/france\/les-trois-vallees\">Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/a> Express from Orelle to Val Thorens will look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lift company in Orelle, \u200b\u200bthe Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des T\u00e9l\u00e9ph\u00e9rique d&#8217;Orelle (STOR), has been looking at upgrading their main link to the rest of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/france\/les-trois-vallees\">Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/a> since the Peyron chairlift was installed in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lift can face queues in peak season, but the cost meant that the idea never progressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Landslide led to new plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>However, in 2015, a landslide cut off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/les-menuires\">Les Menuires<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaletline.co.uk\/val-thorens\">Val Thorens<\/a> from Moutiers and the valley.
