After closing on 15 March because of Coronavirus, like all the other ski resorts in France, Les 2 Alpes<\/a> will be welcoming skiers again from tomorrow (Saturday 06 June).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weekends only at first<\/h2>\n\n\n\n


The glacier in Les 2 Alpes offers skiing up to 3600m. It will initially open at weekends only (06-07, 13-14 & 20-21 June) and then seven days a week from 27 June to 30 August.

Shops, Bars, Restaurants opening<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All shops, bars, restaurants and hotels in resort are also reopening, following the guidelines under current French legislation around ‘d\u00e9confinement<\/em>‘. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restaurants are allowed to extend their outdoor terrace area, with at least 1.50m between tables.

Many restaurants are also offering takeaways and delivery services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hotels opening as well<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rules for hotels mean they must keep rooms empty for 24 hours between each client to allow a ‘deep clean’. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breakfast can be served in guests’ rooms or in the hotel restaurant, as long as that minimum of 1.50m between tables is applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional skiers only at first<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The glacier will be open to professional skiers (race teams, mountain guides and clubs) only until 27 June, when it will open to the general public. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This early period will allow Les 2 Alpes to test their ‘new normal’ operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jandry Express, which takes skiers up to the glacier, can fit up to 20 people. However, the new measures will reduce this to just eight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairlifts will maintain empty seats, with only two people per four-seat lift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be compulsory to wear a mask on all the lifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glacier in good condition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The glacier is in a good shape for the summer with 50cm greater snow depth compared to the same time in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other summer activities to start<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lifts will be open to mountain bikers and hikers as well as skiers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the hiking, mountain biking and running trails will be open, and most usual activities will be available including golf, paragliding, archery and the swimming pool in Venosc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All activities will have new hygiene measures in place. For example, for tandem paragliding flights, both the instructor and the client must wear a mask and gloves. The seat will be deep cleaned between each flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
