{"id":193,"date":"2013-10-16T11:37:06","date_gmt":"2013-10-16T11:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chaletline.co.uk\/?p=193"},"modified":"2013-10-24T10:36:43","modified_gmt":"2013-10-24T10:36:43","slug":"whats-new-in-val-thorens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/2013\/10\/whats-new-in-val-thorens\/","title":{"rendered":"New Lifts in Val Thorens for winter 2013\/14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and always one of the first to open.<\/p>\n<p>This season the lifts will start turning over on 23 November 2013, so with just over a month to go, we take a look at what changes have been made to the lifts for this winter:<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Lacs 4-seater detachable chair lift<\/strong><br \/>\nThis has been fully renovated to improve beginners\u2019 access and the lift capacity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A new &#8216;Gondola&#8217; chair lift<\/strong><br \/>\nThe 3V1 lift has been renamed\u00a0the \u2018TSC des Pionniers\u2019. \u00a0 This is a hybrid 6-seater detachable ski lift, reinforced\u00a0for better performance in windy weather. \u00a0A TSC is\u00a0a gondola chair lift with specially designed 4-person gondolas to\u00a0allow pedestrians access to the infamous La Folie Douce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Vall\u00e9es chair lift<\/strong><br \/>\nThe &#8216;3 Vall\u00e9es 2&#8217; chair has also changed name and has become a 4-seater\u00a0detachable using the existing base to\u00a0minimise the environmental impact. The Bouquetin Funitel has\u00a0been renamed the Funitel des 3 Vall\u00e9es to make it easier to understand the routes that head back towards other ski areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peyron chair lift in Orelle<\/strong><br \/>\nThis has been replaced by a 6-seater detachable lift, with improved technical specifications for<br \/>\nbetter performance in windy weather.
