After 30 years of service, the Olympe bubble lift that links Brides-les-Bains with M\u00e9ribel<\/a> via Les Allues and Raffort is being upgraded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympe gondola was opened thirty years ago to link Brides Les Bains – the main athletes’ village for the Albertville Winter Olympics in 1992 \u2013 to M\u00e9ribel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lift will be modernized before the start of the 2021\/22 season, and the old bubbles will not go to the \u2018bubble graveyard<\/a>\u2019, but will be put on sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are lucky enough to be in the area right now, you can inspect the individual bubbles before you buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are currently located in, and will have to be collected from, the Martagon car park, near to the Raffort intermediate station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potential buyers should be aware that each Poma SP77 \u2018egg\u2019 weighs 334kg, and measures 2m long, 1.68m wide and 2.11m high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suitable for families of up to 6 people<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With dimensions like these, they\u2019re not going to fit into your hand luggage. They will fit most families though, seating six in back-to-back seats of three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should be lucky enough to snap up one of these bargains, M\u00e9ribel-Alpina will provide lifting equipment. However, it\u2019s up to each buyer to provide a suitable means of transport, as well as securing your new purchase onto it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
