M\u00e9ribel remains one of the most popular ski resorts for British skiers and snowboarders. The resort opens for this winter season on 04 December 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening weekend will be celebrated with their \u2018M\u00e9ribel In Lights\u2019 festival \u2013 a great way to start the season at the heart of the world\u2019s largest ski area \u2013 Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this post, we look at what\u2019s new for M\u00e9ribel this winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Maya Altitude restaurant<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This new restaurant will open in December 2021 at the top of the Tougn\u00e8te gondola, on the ridge between M\u00e9ribel<\/a> and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will have a capacity of 400 with Himalayan-inspired decoration and will offer an incredible 360\u00b0 panorama of Mont Blanc and the Belleville valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Taller Gondolas <\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who has stayed in Brides-Les-Bains or M\u00e9ribel Les Allues will have used the Olympe gondola to travel up to La Chaudanne area where the main lifts start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holidaymakers this winter will note that the old cabins have been replaced by new, taller ones which hold six people and have been decorated with new murals inspired by local traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fast high speed chair at <\/strong>Platti\u00e8res<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although this lift was installed and ready to carry skiers in December 2020, it will only be this winter that the new 6-seat high-speed Bouquetin chairlift makes its debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lift that replaces the old Platti\u00e8res 3 gondola, which squeezed skiers and snowboarders into old-style \u2018eggs\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s open to non-skiers as well, taking you to the slopes of Saint-Martin and Les Menuires<\/a> in just 2\u00bd minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Cup Finals come to M\u00e9ribel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With less than 500 days to go until the World Alpine Ski Championships come to Les 3 Vall\u00e9es, M\u00e9ribel hosts the men\u2019s and women\u2019s technical events at the World Cup Finals in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 18-20 March, you\u2019ll be able to see the best skiers in the world competing in Slalom and Giant Slalom, fighting for the fastest times to finish at La Chaudanne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve skier flow during race week, a new 8.5m wide, 5m high and 50m long tunnel has replaced the old Roc de Fer tunnel, which runs below the race piste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a Micro Adventure in M\u00e9ribel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This experience gives you the chance to enjoy two days of freeride in beautiful off-piste areas such as Le Vol du fruit, Vall\u00e9e de Avals, Lac du Loup or the Vall\u00e9e des Encombres, spending the night in a refuge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flying Lessons at the altiport<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
