While it\u2019s very difficult to compare snowfall across ski resorts as there are so many different ways of measuring it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, based solely on the average cumulative snow depth over the last eight years, these are the snowiest 5 ski resorts in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Tignes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the highest ski resorts in France and with the Grande Motte glacier to offer, it\u2019s perhaps no surprise that Tignes <\/a>comes top of this list. Sometimes topping 10m of snow, on average Tignes delivers 697cm of snow each winter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Cauterets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This will be no surprise to anyone who\u2019s visited this charming Belle Epoque town in the French Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es. Its micro-climate means it logged an average of 688cm of cumulative snowfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Piau Engaly<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Third on our list is another Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9ean resort. Despite only going as high as 2600m, you can expect an average of 628cm each season here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Val Thorens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Europe\u2019s highest ski resort at 2300m (and recently voted France\u2019s Best Ski Resort) Val Thorens<\/a> falls just a single centimetre behind Piau Engaly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Val d’Is\u00e8re<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Neighbour to Tignes in the huge Espace Killy ski area, Val d’Is\u00e8re<\/a> slides into 5th<\/sup> place with 534cm of snow on average each winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
