The International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art \u2013 or \u2018Fireworks Fortnight\u2019 as it\u2019s colloquially known – was first held in 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technically, it\u2019s slightly longer than two weeks as it runs from 10 February to 03 March 2022, employing some of the best firework display specialists in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This winter, watch out in particular for six performances based on the Marvel Universe. Here\u2019s more details about the key dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10 February – Courchevel Village<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At 6.35pm, there\u2019s a preview of the Festival with the local ESF, featuring a torchlight descent in Courchevel 1550<\/a>. Then at 7pm, the first firework display by \u2018Pyro-Technic\u2019, experts from Romania, will be the official launch of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 February – Courchevel 1850<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There will be another traditional torchlight descent at 6.45pm, accompanied by the air patrol team, which will be followed at 7pm with a performance by the renown German group \u2018Pyromondo\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can\u2019t be there for this event in person, you\u2019ll be able to catch it live as it is being broadcast on Courchevel\u2019s social pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go Behind the Scenes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This winter, there\u2019s a chance to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the festival with a guide and a professional pyrotechnician. You\u2019ll find out the fascinating secrets of fireworks, the history of pyrotechnic art and get as close as possible to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience is free from between 4.30pm to 6.30pm, but you must have a \u2018pass vaccinal\u2019 and register with Courchevel Tourisme in advance (+33 4 7908 0029).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

24 February – Courchevel Moriond<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This week it\u2019s Courchevel 1650<\/a> that hosts the ESF\u2019s torchlight descent accompanied by the air patrol team, acting as the warm-up before a fabulous pyrotechnic show by the Hungarian crew \u2018Nuvu Pyrotechnics\u2019 starting at 7pm.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

01 March – Courchevel Le Praz<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The end of the festival comes with a fun-packed programme in Courchevel Le Praz<\/a>. From 4.30pm there will be free face-painting for the kids, then at 6.15pm the party begins with lantern parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s followed by a torchlit descent and at 7.15pm, the fourth and final major firework display of 2022 features the French team \u2018Art’Emotions. Again if you can\u2019t be there, watch live via social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

02 March – Courchevel La Tania<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Oxyg\u00e8ne Ski & Snowboard School are organising a torchlit descent for children at 6.30pm, followed by a demo by the Courchevel La Tania ESF. Then at 7pm, a sound and light show will take place followed by a fabulous firework display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

03 March – Courchevel 1850<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The closing ceremony of the Festival in Courchevel 1850<\/a> will see the winners awards ceremony and then a final performance by French experts \u2018Embrasia\u2019, as the sky \u2018lights up with a thousand lights\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
