Even if you don\u2019t like cycling, if you\u2019re a skier, then it\u2019s always worth watching the Tour de France when it comes to the Alps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last few days, the peloton has travelled through some of the most famous ski resorts in France, including Samoens<\/a>, Morzine<\/a>, Les Gets<\/a>, Megeve, M\u00e9ribel<\/a> and Courchevel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tour arrives in Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Undoubtedly the highlight was on Wednesday of this week when the Tour tackled the most challenging stage of this year\u2019s race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cyclists started in Saint Gervais and cycled via Megeve and Les Saisies in the Beaufort, down to Bourg St Maurice in the Tarentaise valley. From there they made their way to Moutiers and up into Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/a> via Brides-Les-Bains, Courchevel Le Praz<\/a>, La Tania<\/a> to M\u00e9ribel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highest point on this year’s Tour<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even though that part of the stage required riders to cross passes as high as 1968m at the Cormet de Roselend, the real challenge came in the climb from M\u00e9ribel to Courchevel 1850<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyclists crossed between the two resorts at the Col de la Loze \u2013 the highest point on this year\u2019s Tour at 2304m \u2013 an extremely tough climb of 28.1km at an average gradient of 6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was the Tour decided in Courchevel?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately the day decided this year\u2019s race as Danish rider Jonas Vingegaard extended his lead to over seven minutes over rival Tadej Pogacar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
