Many resorts are taking action to reduce their own emissions and encourage their visitors to do the same, and Morzine is a great example of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go-Morzine-Avoriaz<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The resort has launched a new booking platform at Go-Morzine-Avoriaz.com<\/a>, where holidaymakers travellers can check the CO2 emissions of their journey, as well as the transit time and prices for each option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the project is to enable travellers to plan and pay for their journey on a single spot from anywhere in the world right to the heart of the resort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skiers and snowboarders can choose the lowest carbon option, or the fastest, or the cheapest route, but the lowest carbon option will always be the default offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AlpinExpress Pass<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Morzine has brought together more than forty local companies to create the AlpinExpress pass<\/a>, specifically to encourage people to travel by train to the resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created by the local not-for-profit organisation, Montagne Verte, it means that anyone arriving by train can enjoy discounts on accommodation, lift passeses, transfers, equipment rental, restaurants and more in Morzine, as well as in Avoriaz and Les Gets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flocon Vert<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, Morzine-Avoriaz was awarded the Flocon Vert award<\/a>. This is a green accreditation that recognises actions put into place by ski resorts to improve their environmental credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is only awarded to a few resorts (22 in France currently) and shows that Morzine has a long-term sustainable development strategy. Morzine<\/a> is aware that there is still a lot of progress to be made, and the Flocon Vert approach should serve as a compass to guide the village\u2019s decisions and actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
