{"id":2467,"date":"2024-07-09T12:09:59","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T12:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2467"},"modified":"2025-01-03T17:49:40","modified_gmt":"2025-01-03T17:49:40","slug":"saulire-cable-car-in-courchevel-to-re-open-in-december-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/2024\/07\/saulire-cable-car-in-courchevel-to-re-open-in-december-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Saulire cable car in Courchevel to re-open in December 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Lovers of the world\u2019s largest ski area \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/france\/les-trois-vallees\">Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/a> \u2013 will be pleased to know that the Saulire cable car will be re-opening for this winter in <a href=\"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/courchevel-1850\">Courchevel<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Damaged during pre-season testing in 2021<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The cable car has been out of action since September 2021 when it was damaged during pre-season testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the start of every winter, all lifts are loaded with weights and tested to ensure that the emergency systems all work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, during this testing, the top cabin crashed into the lift station and was significantly damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"510\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Unconfirmed reports that the Saulire cable car in Courchevel will be out of action the whole season due to the recent accident during testing <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uOriX4W1C9\">pic.twitter.com\/uOriX4W1C9<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Skipedia.co.uk (@skipedia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/skipedia\/status\/1446031205976186886?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 7, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Closed for three winters <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The lift has now been closed for three winter seasons \u2013 2021\/22 and 2022\/23 and 2023\/24 \u2013 while an estimated \u20ac9 million of repairs have taken place.
