La Plagne is replacing the Roche de Mio gondola as part of a long-term project to improve the lift system across the resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The existing lift has been in service for 45 years and has created a bottleneck in the lift system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of a \u20ac36m project<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new lift is part of a \u20ac36 million project. It will have 10-seater cabins and increase uplift capacity to 3140 passengers per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are some slight changes from lift that it replaces. The base station will move to the Plagne Bellecote snowfront at 1933m. There will be a mid-station by the Col de Forcle lift and the top station will be near the Carella lift at 2714m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Col de Forcle mid-station, in particular, will help flow as it opens up access to Champagny, Bellecote and the summeit of the Roche de Mio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will open in December 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Work is currently underway on the construction of the stations. The lift is not planned to open until the 2025\/26 winter season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately this will connect to the new \u2018Les Glaciers\u2019 gondola that will connect to 3080m at the top of La Plagne. It will also be a 10-seater, with an uplift capacity of 2800 passengers per hour. The \u2018Glaciers\u2019 lift will open in December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
