When the legendary\u00a0Col de l\u2019Iseran above Val d’Is\u00e8re<\/a> opened last Friday 06 June, not only were cyclists happy, but skiers could look forward to the start of the resort\u2019s summer skiing season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At an altitude of 2770m, the Col de l\u2019Iseran is the Alps’ highest road pass and the pinnacle of the Route des Grandes Alpes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Importantly for skiers, the opening of the pass also allows access to the connecting road with Val d’Is\u00e8re\u2019s Pisaillas glacier, offering skiing between 3197m and 2725m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glacier skiing until 06 July<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Pisaillas Glacier is now open for summer skiing to amateurs and professionals alike from 7am to midday every day until 06 July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an average snow depth of 1.50 metres, there will be six slopes open. Three are accessible to everyone (Moraine, Montet, and Combe du G\u00e9ant) and four are reserved exclusively for club and national team race training (Champions, Aiguille-Perse, Roche and Pisaillas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The slopes are accessible via the Cascade chairlift and the Les Montets drag lift. Lift passes start from \u20ac36 for one day, or \u20ac289 for the season and can be bought from the bottom of the Cascade chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
