Courmayeur is preparing for a major transformation next winter, with two brand-new gondolas set to open for the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Italian resort \u2013 on the other side of Mont Blanc tunnel from Chamonix at the top of the Aosta Valley \u2013 is known for its charm, off-piste terrain and traditional feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upgrade to Ch\u00e9crouit Gondola<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Construction has already started on two state-of-the-art gondolas in Courmayeur<\/a>, ready to be operational in time for the following winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Plan Ch\u00e9crouit sector, the existing six-person Ch\u00e9crouit gondola will be replaced with a modern 10-seater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The travel time will be slightly reduced to 5 minutes 30 seconds from 7 minutes and 20 seconds, \u00a0but the major improvements will be for skiers in terms of comfort and accessibility. The new capacity will be 2200 skiers and snowboarders per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New gondola for Maison Vieille<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The second project is the improvement of the Maison Vieille chairlift. This old-style two-person lift will be replaced with another ten-person gondola operating on the same route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new gondola will be produced by Leitner, with a speed of 6 metres\/second and an uplift capacity of 2000 skiers and snowboarders per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
