{"id":2810,"date":"2026-10-14T08:16:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T08:16:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2810"},"modified":"2026-10-14T08:16:29","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T08:16:29","slug":"montgenevre-to-unveil-two-new-gondolas-for-winter-2026-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/2026\/10\/montgenevre-to-unveil-two-new-gondolas-for-winter-2026-27\/","title":{"rendered":"Montgen\u00e8vre to unveil two new gondolas for winter 2026\/27"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Montgen\u00e8vre is investing around \u20ac30 million in its ski lift infrastructure ahead of the 2026\/27 winter season \u2013 the largest investment in its history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new gondola in the Chalvet sector will improve access to the mid-mountain and provide a more comfortable journey for skiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will replace the existing lift, linking the resort at approximately 1850m with the upper station at 2135m and will cut travel time in half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"868\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2811\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image.png 868w, https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-768x438.png 768w, https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-190x108.png 190w, https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-60x34.png 60w, https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-400x228.png 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 868px) 100vw, 868px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New Fourn\u00e9ous gondola to highest point<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From the mid-station, the Fourn\u00e9ous gondola will replace the existing Chalvet chairlift and Trois Fourn\u00e9ous drag lift with a new gondola, providing access to one of the resort\u2019s higher points, at 2575m \u2013 and in just one-third of the previous time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unusually, the gondola is equipped with Doppelmayr&#8217;s AURO system, which allows driverless operation \u2013 a first in the Southern Alps.
