Les 2 Alpes<\/a> is gearing up for the summer with plenty of activities going on, including – from this weekend – skiing!<\/p>\n

Largest skiable glacier in Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

The French ski resort<\/a> has the largest skiable glacier in Europe with 111 hectares, 9 blue runs, 1 green run, 1 red run and a snowpark. \u00a0It will be open from 20 June to 29 August 2015.<\/p>\n

It’s an early start if you want to ski, with the glacier open daily from 7am to 12.30pm. The glacier is at 3,200m and is accessed on the Jandri Express, taking thirty minutes.<\/p>\n

Great snow depths<\/strong><\/p>\n

The snow conditions on the glacier are excellent for the opening, with an average height of snow of 255cm \u2013 and over 3 metres above 3,000m.<\/p>\n

Les 2 Alpes<\/a> spends a lot of time working on the glacier to ensure it is in optimal condition. This includes harvesting snow on the glacier and distributing it daily to ensure the best snow coverage possible.<\/p>\n

Mountain Biking and more<\/strong><\/p>\n

Les 2 Alpes is also a mountain bike mecca and one of the most established mountain bike destinations in Europe. \u00a0The mountain biking season starts on Friday with the MTB Opening Party from 19\u00a0to 21\u00a0June.<\/p>\n

On Friday 19\u00a0June, there is a pre-opening day where an exclusive number of riders get to ride the trails for the first time. \u00a0These 600 VIPs also get dinner on the mountain, a BBQ in the evening, a concert, and some extra surprises!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chaletline.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/L2AGlacier_June2015-190x120.jpg<\/a>
