This is the first of our new series of posts: ‘Meet The Team’. It’s a chance for you, our customers, to find out a bit more about those friendly and informed voices you hear on the other end of the phone.
First up is Chalet Advisor, Mark Alden:
Although a bit of a ‘geek’ with a passion for spreadsheets, the pull of the outdoors meant I left the desk job behind a few years ago.
As a qualified Outdoor Pursuits Instructor, I used to spend my days working (and playing) on and around Dartmoor; climbing, canoeing & kayaking (yes, there is a difference!) and mountain boarding – which ultimately led me into snowboarding.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit quite a few resorts, including those in the Three Valleys and the Paradiski, not to mention St Anton and surrounding resorts.
Married with 3 girls, an old Springer spaniel with dementia, an aggressive cat and giant land snails!
How long have you been working for Chaletline.co.uk?
Since 2005 on a seasonal basis and then full time since 2007.
What is your favourite ski resort and why?
St Anton. It has something to offer everyone; a good selection of accommodation, great skiing and an amazing apres scene.
Skier or snowboarder?
Boarder – I don’t like to get involved with skier v. boarder debate!
What music do you like to listen to?
I don’t have one genre, I listen to everything from chart music to Indie to Folk and even Punk. There’s nothing better than live music – whatever and who ever it is!
What are you most looking forward to about winter 2013/14?
Getting back to the mountains! I’m keen to try out new resorts and if I’m lucky make the long haul and and sample everything North America has to offer.
