This weekend, the World Ski Awards in Kitzbuhel saw the best resorts, hotels and chalets across twenty different countries.
Val Thorens in France was named as the Best Ski Resort, which took not only the title of best resort in France, but best ski resort in the world.
The main competitors for this award were Deer Valley in the States and Lake Louise in Canada.
Phenomenal response from voters
The awards were voted on by travel professionals and skiers from around the planet. Sion Rapson, MD of the World Ski Awards, described the reaction to their inaugural event as ‘phenomenal’.
