Some people like their downhill, some prefer slalom. For others it’s ice skating or curling that makes them tune in.
But at Chaletline, we’ve already marked the date in our diary for the Skier Cross (okay, and maybe the Boarder Cross as well).
Skier Cross is the sport to watch at Sochi
This was the stand out event at Vancouver 2010, and although it now has competition from Slopestyle – now an Olympic sport for the first time – it’s still Skier Cross that gets our attention.
If you’ve not come across the sport before then settle down for a white-knuckle ride and watch this video – head-to-head, first past the post, there’s no hiding place in this race!
Emily Sarsfield leads the way for Britain
British interest may not last to the final, but Emily Sarsfield is Britain’s top ranked skier and stands a good chance of making it to the knock-out rounds (the fastest in a timed run qualify).
Watch out for the Skier Cross on the mornings of Thursday 20 February (mens) and Friday 21 February (womens) – it’s one not to miss!
