The Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships started in Meribel yesterday.
Competing in her last ever British championships, since announcing that she will retire at the end of this week, Chemmy Alcott claimed the Ladies’ Super G title in 1:23:91.
Alcott was delighted with the win:
I just wanted to come through the finish line with a smile on my face. The last few weeks have been tough but I would have been disappointed if I didn’t win.
The Men’s Super G was won by Alcott’s fiance, Dougie Crawford. The course was very technical and the majority of racers failed to finish.
The Delancey British National Alpine Championships take place in Meribel from the 30th March to 7th April, and will be followed by the Under 16 and Under 14 Championships from the 8th April to 11th April.
