They have been busy in Austria this summer investing in new lifts and infrastructure.
SkiWelt
Wilder Kaiser-Brixental in the Ski Welt has invested in €23m in upgrades and expansions that will see Austria’s largest ski area grow to 280km of interconnected slopes, due to the creation of a new 1.2km long red run in Brixen.
In Scheffau the 4-seater Aualm chairlift has been replaced by a brand new hi-tech 8-seater, which will speed connections between Brixen/Söll and Scheffau/Ellmau/Going.
Ischgl
In Ischgl, we have already reported on the new Pardatschgratbahn gondola – a €40m investment that will be opening in December.
It will take just 9 minutes to take skiers to 2642m – a 1251m vertical ascent – and will be able to carry 2800 skiers per hour.
Sölden
In Sölden in the Ötztal region the 3-seater Wasserkar chairlift has been upgraded to a 6-seater detachable chairlift, with full weather protection hoods.
The new valley station for the Wasserkar chairlift has also been relocated a further 560m down the valley, which has enabled the resort to add an extended black run.
