That may look an unlikely headline, but it’s true!
This winter the Vanoise Express cable car – which links Les Arcs and La Plagne in the Paradiski ski area is going to become a restaurant…for one night only!
Biggest cable car in the world
With a capacity of 200 across two cabins on two levels, the Vanoise Express has the biggest cable car in the world since it opened in 2004.
It takes only 3 minutes 50 seconds to travel the 1824m from Plan Peisey to Montchavin.
One-off chance to dine on board
On February 12, the lift will be closed for two hours, while 40 diners enjoy a gourmet meal suspended 380m above the ground!
The two cabins will be redecorated for the occasion, including with chandeliers. The theme of the meal will be ‘Revisited Mountain Cuisine’ (possibly something lost in translation there – as that sounds like re-heated tartiflette), prepared by a famous chef.
