Norfolk Ski Club attempt World Record for Longest chain of skiers

The attempt will take place this Sunday, 26th April at the home of the Norfolk Snowsports Club.

The attempt coincides with the  annual Schools Ski Championship organised by Eastern Regional Snowsports Association.

To break the record all skiers have to hold hands and ski over the 100m slope.  The children will also be fundraising for several local children’s charities.

Growth in popularity

Snowsports across the UK has grown in popularity in part due to the success of Team GB in Sochi last year.

Bernie Wright from ERSA noted that ‘This is the fourth year of the schools race and the number of participants has been steadily increasing.’

Nick Ogden from Snowsports England added ‘We have a huge snowsports following in East Anglia with some of the best facilities in the country.  We hope this record attempt will encourage more schools in the are to take part in snowsports.’
