Team GB skier James ‘Woodsy’ Woods today secured his second Slopestyle win in consecutive days.
For the second day in a row the 24-year-old British athlete topped the podium at the Cardrona Games in New Zealand.
Back to back wins
Following Woodsy’s win yesterday in the first Slopestyle contest of the Cardrona Games, he again showed his class as he came out on top in a tight contest against a strong international field.
After a solid first run he sealed the win on his second run with a double 1260 and his unique Octo Grab.
Woodsy was ecstatic with the result:
“It’s been a big two days of competition and I’m really proud to have won on both days. It’s a big test to make two finals and to land two runs. Respect to all the competitors, everyone killed it.”
More Brits in the Top 10
British team-mates Tyler Harding and Felix Klein also put in strong performances in finishing 7th and 8th respectively in the final. This was on the back of their 8th and 11th places from the first Slopestyle contest the previous day.
The Cardrona Games are FIS events at a Continental Cup level and also are sanctioned by the AFP (Association of Freeskiing Professionals) as Silver level events.
