5 Great Non-Ski Activities to Try this Winter

These days a ski holiday can be about so much more than simply skiing.  We’ve been through all the news for this season and picked these five great non-ski activiites to try.

Biathlon in Chamonix

This winter in Chamonix all the family can try our biathlon. Throughout the season, from 1130am to 1pm Sunday to Friday, ESF instructors will be offering an introduction to this Olympic discipline.

This combination of target rifle shooting and Nordic skiing is located at the Desert Blanc, near Les Bois. There are twelve targets to shoot at from a distance of 50 metres.

The cost is €115 for 4 persons with more information available from www.esfchamonix.com

Dog Sled Rides in Les Arcs

This could be the perfect non-ski activity: breathtaking scenery, ‘man’s best friend’ and mushing your way across the snow in Les Arcs.

There’s a choice of discovery rides or night-time rides and even the ‘Magic Sled’ for under-5s. There’s also a sled museum that looks at the history of the sled, types of dogs used and polar explorers.
