This year the Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Festival will celebrate their 45th Anniversary.
The event has been re-branded from a ‘Show’ to a ‘Festival’, fitting in with the various activities now on offer. In 2018 it will take place from 25-28 October in the same venue of the last few years in Battersea Park.
First ever show was in 1973
The first ever London Ski Show was held in 1973 with only a handful of exhibitors. This year visitors can expect a spectacular Alpine Festival, filled with après themed street food, bar areas, live music, comedy, all the latest ski gear and a chance to find out more about the world’s best ski resorts.
“The Festival is filled to the brim with new and inspiring content that should appeal to everyone!” said Samantha Pearce, Head of Marketing for the event.
Great activities for half-term week
The Festival is taking part during half term week and new attractions that will appeal to children including dog sledding and ice skating.
Brought to you by France Montagnes, children will be able to experience driving your own sled with a team of friendly dogs on the slopes of Battersea Park (on wheels, unless there’s an unusual amount of autumn snowfall!)
There are plenty of other games and activities for kids including an Arts & Crafts Zone, face painting, and a line-up of children’s entertainers.
Try the Snow+Rock Climbing Wall
The only one of its kind in the UK and all new for 2018, the Snow+Rock Climbing Wall will offer interactive climbing fun for all the family.
You will be able to race against each other in a host of challenges and competitions, letting the lights guide the way as the wall responds to your actions.
The Snow+Rock climbing wall is included in the price of your ticket and works on a first come first serve basis.
Free Skiing thanks to Chel-Ski
in 2018, the Festival will be hosting London’s largest indoor ski centre, Chel-Ski, offering visitors the chance to brush up on their existing skills or take their first steps into the fun-fuelled world of skiing or snowboarding!
Team GB on Mount Battersea
In the heart of the Mountain Village, a vintage Ferris wheel will provide great aerial views of the action on Mount Battersea where the British Ski & Snowboard Team will be soaring into the air, demonstrating tricks performed at the recent Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
There’s also comedy, premium dining area ‘The Lodge’, and the Travel Genius Bar to get your questions answered.
