Méribel is investing over €15 million in the resort over the next two years, starting this winter 2018/19 with two new chairlifts.
New 6-seater chairlift and red piste
The Cherferie button lift is replaced by the Les 3 Vallées resort with a 6-seat chairlift. The new lift will take skiers to 2267m at the top in just minutes with an uplift capacity of 2800 people per hour.
From the top of Cherferie, there will be more snow-making on the blue Choucas piste. A new red piste to be called Gypaete will also give skiers and snowboarders another option back to the bottom of the new chair over 1300m and a vertical drop of 225m.
Legends will replace Plan de l’Homme and Roc de Fer chairlifts
In addition ‘The Legends’ – a single new premium chairlift in La Chaudanne will replace both the Plan de l’Homme and the Roc de Fer chairlifts taking you up to 2017m
The new lift will whisk up to 3600 skiers per hour to the top in just 4 minutes and 40 seconds. Thermally regulated premium seats and a pull-down shield to protect passengers from any wind or snow will also improve the comfort of the journey.
