- This winter Les Arcs is celebrating its 50th birthday with special events running throughout the year
- The first hotel in Les Arcs opened in 1968 in Arc 1600, with the resort not being completed until 1973
- Arc 1800 opened in 1974 and Arc 2000 in 1979
- Arc 1950 was developed by Intrawest and opened in 2003
- There are now over 35000 beds across all the different stations
- Every winter tourists stay 1.8 million bed nights
- French visitors make up 68% of the clientele, with 32% from other countries
- From 30 March to 05 April Les Arcs will be hosting its 3rd annual ‘Great British Celebration’ and ‘thumbing its nose at Brexit
- The number of visitors increased 1.1% in winter 2017/18 compared with the previous year
- Les Arcs is open from 15 December 2018 to 17 April 2019
- 70% of the ski area is located above 2000m
- The Paradiski ski area is the second largest in the world with 425km of runs
- The funicular from Bourg St Maurice takes just 9 minutes to reach Arc 1600
- In 2019, the funicular will be renovated and launched for next winter with a futuristic look
- Les Arcs & Peisey Vallandry recorded 2.1 million skier days in 2017/18
- Les Arcs has 142k Facebook fans and 35 followers on Instagram
- There were 2.8 million visits to the Les Arcs website in winter 2017/18 – an increase of 17% on the previous year
- The tourism office report that 177 journalists visited the resort last winter and there were over 5000 press mentions of Les Arcs (and we guess this counts as another!)
- There were also 380,000 bed nights during summer 2018 – representing 17% of the annual resort visitors.
- Summer visitors increased 5.4% compared with 2017
- In summer, 92% of visitors are French and only 8% international
