How about this for the ultimate ski/bike challenge? Next month, to mark the end of the season, Les 2 Alpes hosts the Snow2Bike challenge.
On 30 April and 01 May, the Snow2Bike race will give adrenaline junkies the chance to race over the 2500m vertical descent from the Les 2 Alpes glacier at 3400m to the village of Vénosc at 960m.
Teams of two
Teams compete in pairs, with competitors taking part in both the skiing and mountain biking.
The first section is on skis down to the resort at 1600m, followed by the descent by mountain bike to Venosc.
To be able to race, each participant has to be able to show sufficient skills in both disciplines to take part. Specifically, you need to be able to take on the black slopes of the ski area as well as the red runs of the Bikepark.
The Route
– Start in pairs at 3400m on the Les 2 Alpes glacier
– Ski to the resort, more than 1700m of vertical drop
– Swap out of your skis and onto your mountain bike
– Descend – still in pairs – from resort to Venosc down another 750m vertical desent
– Arrive in the village of Venosc in pairs and celebrate!
