Work on the new télémixte lift – a lift that combines gondolas and chairlifts – connecting Savoleyres and La Tzoumaz in Verbier has started.
It will make the journey between Verbier and La Tzoumaz easier, faster and more comfortable. The travel time from Esserts (1700m) to Planards will be just under seven minutes and Planards to Savoleyres (2200m) in just over five minutes.
The new lift in Verbier features a ten-seater cable car connecting Les Esserts to the summit of Savoleyres (uplift capacity of 1675 skiers ph), and a six-seater chairlift linking Les Planards mid-station to the top of Savoleyres (2650 skiers ph).
Due to open for winter 2025/26
It will replace two lifts originally constructed in the 1970s: the Savoleyres cable car and the Sud ski lift.
The second section of this new installation is due to open for winter 2025/26, with the full route fully operational in 2026.
A new piste will also be introduced between Le Carrefour and the departure station of the new lift, creating a direct skiable route from the Les Ruinettes sector.
