Courchevel is going to auction the old Chenus and Ariondaz gondolas in May 2025, with 160 cabins on offer.
The Chenus and Ariondaz gondolas
The majority (95) will come from the Chenus gondola, which is being replaced in the summer of 2025. The technically-minded will note that they are a POMA design and were first installed in 1994.
The remainder (65 cabins) are from the Ariondaz gondola, made by CWA in 2001.
Profits will be donated to charity by S3V, the Les 3 Vallées lift company.
If you can’t make it to the Alpinium in Le Praz for 1pm on Saturday 24 May, it is possible to bid online, but bear in mind that the cabins need to be collected by Saturday 07 June 2025.
And it’s not like buying on Amazon: there’s no shipping provided, so you’ll probably need to rent a truck!
