Courchevel is marking its 80th anniversary in style this winter – with the launch of an exclusive ski created in collaboration with iconic ski brand HEAD.
The limited-edition ski is the result of a long-standing relationship between HEAD and Courchevel, which extends beyond the resort itself to include its sports club, local sporting hero Alexis Pinturault and a new generation of Courchevel athletes.
To celebrate eight decades of the famous French resort, the tourist office wanted to create something that would capture Courchevel’s history, reputation for excellence and passion for skiing.
“Beyond black”
The ski is an elegant, deep black finish inspired by the work of renowned French artist Pierre Soulages, famous for his “outrenoir” work – literally, beyond black.
Even the smallest details have been considered. The name ‘Courchevel’ is laser-engraved directly onto the binding.
The ski is modelled on HEAD’s Supershape e-Magnum, a high-performance piste ski aimed at advanced and expert skiers.
Just 199 pairs
But if you fancy owning a piece of Courchevel’s 80-year history, you’ll need to move quickly as just 199 pairs of the anniversary ski are being produced
The skis will be available through authorised HEAD retailers in Courchevel.
