At the end of March, Courchevel will host the 21st French Snow Grooming Championships.
Regular readers of the Chaletline blog will know that there’s a massive amount of skill involved in driving these huge machines – know as ‘piste bashers’ to many British skiers and snowboarders.
Three years to master a snow groomer
We reported recently on how it takes three years before a snow groomer driver is considered fully proficient.
The annual annual ‘PistenBully Challenge’ will showcase the skills involved in driving these magnificent machines.
Competing for the pride of their resort
From March 30-31 2016, around one hundred drivers from French and Andorran ski resorts will gather in Courchevel – competing for the pride of their own resort.
Competitors take part in a combination of precision events that will test the limits of their driving, technical and mechanical skills. It will include Alpine and cross-country skiing challenges.
Get ‘behind the scenes’
Alongside the competition, the ‘PistenBully Village’ will be hosting plenty of fun entertainment based on a snow grooming theme.
This is a unique chance for holidaymakers in Les 3 Vallees to go ‘behind the scenes’ in the world of piste-bashing, and a chance for the professionals to network and socialise.
