What’s New in Les Arcs for Winter 2017/18

French ski resort Les Arcs opens in less than a month now on 16 December, so what better time to look at what’s new and what’s coming up in the resort this winter.

New – Snow Guarantee

With 70% of the ski area situated at over 2000m Les Arcs and an ultra-efficient snow-making network this winter the resort is offering a ‘Snow Guarantee.

If the resort cannot offer skiing in the Les Arcs ski area, then they will exchange your ski passes for any other week during the season (excluding school holiday weeks).

The Great British Celebration – 24-30 March 2018

This season will Les Arcs host the second ‘Great British Celebration’, a week-long event of on- and off-slope activities designed to celebrate British skiers.

Forget about Brexit, Les Arcs will be decked out in the colours of the Union Jack and will be putting on Franco-British challenges around the resort. It’s the perfect time for British skiers to visit Les Arcs.

Les Arcs European Film Festival – 16-23 December 2017

Germany will be the country of honour for the 9th edition of this key cultural event for the resort.

The film festival includes a full programme of exclusive screenings with over 120 of the best current films in Europe, including previews, personal appearances from directors and actors, evening concerts and entertainment on the slopes. This star-studded event also takes place across the first week of the season.

Speed riding in Les Arcs

Speed riding – which combines skiing with flying – was introduced to the Alps around 10 years ago.

If you’d to try out this thrilling sport, than Arc 2000’s Speed Riding School is the biggest one of its kind in France. Les Arcs has a whole area dedicated to the sport, including a gentle slope where you can learn safely.

Mille8 activity area

The Mille8 new-generation freeride area offers a wide choice of après-ski options in the daytime and the evening for all the family, including boardercross, cabins, toboggan run, swimming pool, the Cube, the Penguins and the Lodge.

New – Voga Goga Mountain Restaurant

Situated in the centre of the high-end Edenarc complex and directly linked to Arc 1800 by Le Dahu gondola, this new contemporary restaurant serves both Savoyard dishes and French gastronomic classics with an original take. Think wood set into metallic structures, fur coverings on the walls and ski photos with a Warholian look!

New – Santa Calling

On Christmas Eve in Les Arcs, you can summon up Santa to deliver Christmas presents to your hotel, chalet or apartment – an extra treat to make Christmas even more special for your children.

The service can be booked at the Les Arcs Tourist Office, who will contact the Elves and book your slot in Santa’s busy schedule!
