Build your own ski resort (by taking a visit to the Resort Boneyard)

Do you want to set up your own ski resort? Maybe you have particularly large, sloped garden? Or you simply fancy owning your own piste basher to ensure your drive stays clear of snow?

If this is the case, then you need to take a visit to ResortBoneyard.com – the website for second-hand ski resort equipment.

Even if you’re just window-shopping, if you love skiing then this is great fun to browse. Here are our top five possible purchases for your next ski resort:

1. Magic Carpet ($105,000)

More correctly described as a ‘2017 Sunkid N1 Conveyor Lift’, you’ll need a slope of at least 39 metres to fit this ‘magic carpet’ alongside. Oh, and you’ll also need to ship it from Eastern Canada. But your kids will love it.

2. Snow Cannons ($5,775 each)

Unless you are lucky enough to have guaranteed snow, then from time to time you might need to create some artificial snow. Fortunately, you can snap up four Lenko fan guns for €5000 each (including a discount for buying all four).

3. Piste Basher ($31,500)

You have your lift; you have your snow – now you need to make sure your snow is in tip-top condition for your friends, family or paying guests – because you’ve got to pay for all this, right?

There’s a good choice of snow groomers available on the site. You could go all out and splash $82,500 on a Prinoth BR350, but we think the Bombardier BR275 will do the job at less than half the price, plus it’s yellow!

So that’s all you need!

If you can’t afford it now, put it on your Christmas list. And when your own private ski resort is set up, we look forward to an invitation!
