Huge congratulations to GB Snowsport athlete Mia Brookes.
Only 16 years old and in her first full season in the World Cup, Mia Brookes has just exploded expectations by becoming a World Champion at her first attempt.
Competing in Bakuriani, Georgia, Brookes became Britain’s youngest Freestyle World Champion in Snowboard Slopestyle.
Coming into the final run in silver medal position, Brookes’ second run included the first ever cab 1440 in women’s snowboarding competition to score 91.38.
Brookes becomes the second British snowboarder to become a World Champion after Snowboard Cross athlete Charlotte Brookes.
“I’m just really, really happy – live, I’ve never been so happy in my life. I feel like I’m going to cry!“
