It might only be August, but thoughts are already turning towards next winter.
Here in the Chaletline offices, our phonelines are busy with chalet holiday enquiries. And on the other side of the world, some of Britain’s best skiers and snowboarders have arrived for pre-season training in Australia.
Perisher’s snowpark
Perisher in Australia has one of the best snowparks in the southern hemisphere. Not only does it have excellent features, but riders love it as it’s easy to do laps on, with both a t-bar and chairlift on either side.
Mia Brookes
Already in Perisher is Mia Brookes, the 16-year-old snowboarder who became a world champion in her first season as a senior professional.
Brookes won the snowboard Slopestyle at the Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in Georgia in February of this year.
That win made her the youngest ever snowboard world champion and the first British person to win a snowboard slopestyle world title.
After pulling off the first ever CAB 1440 in competition in that event, you can be sure that all eyes will be on here in the park.
Kirsty Muir
Big Air and Slopestyle skier 19-year-old Kirsty Muir arrives in Perisher next week for a training camp, looking to build on the tricks that brought her bronze in both disciplines at the 2023 Winter X Games.

From Australia to New Zealand
Both athletes will then move from Australia to Cardrona in New Zealand later in August. They will be joined there by 20-year-old freestyle skier, Zoe Atkin, who was also a medallist at both the 2023 X Games and World Championships.
Looking forward to winter 2023/24
We wish all our athletes all the best with their training and for competition next winter.
