Lift pass savings when you travel by train to the Vialattea / Milky Way in Italy

Vialattea – which some skiers may know better as the ‘Milky Way’ is offering skiers and snowboarders a discount on their lift passes if they travel by train.

The ski area has extended their partnership with Trenitalia as part of their commitment to sustainable tourism.

Travelling by train is a great way to reduce the carbon emissions associated with your ski holiday. Even if you fly, taking a transfer by train instead of hiring a car will still make a difference.

Well connected by train

The area is well-served by rail, withRegional, Intercity, and Le Frecce (High-Speed Rail) trains connecting it to major cities throughout Italy.

The gateway to Vialattea is Oulx – a town just 6km from the ski slopes of Sauze d’Oulx – located on the main line between Turin and France.

The Vialattea Link service aim to provide seamless travel, integrating train and bus connections to create a streamlined journey from Trenitalia’s Oulx station to the main resorts.

Discounts on lift passes

Passengers travelling with Trenitalia on Le Frecce (High-Speed Rail), Intercity, and regional trains can enjoy discounts of up to 25% on ski passes.

Visitors simply present their train ticket, with a travel date no more than three days before at a Vialattea lift pass office. Detailed information on these offers is available on the Vialattea website.

Commitment to sustainability

Vialattea continues to prioritise sustainability. The area sources100% of its electricity from renewable resources, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 2,900 tonnes annually.

By encouraging visitors to opt for low-impact travel, the idea is to promote responsible tourism and preserve the natural beauty of the mountains for future generations.
