Sponsor your very own Alpine Cow in Verbier

Love cows? Then when not take up this ‘udderly fabulous’ offer in Verbier?

Local company, EdelAlp, is offering the chance for UK based ‘godparents’ to choose their ‘Summer Queen’, a traditional Heren Cow, when they arrive in the mountains for their summer holiday.

Unlimited visiting rights

Sponsorship costs CHF275 (around £140) and ‘godparents’ can in fact choose cows from pastures across the Alpine Valais canton of Switzerland.

Cows are available to choose from the Mille pasture, in Val de Bagnes and the Grand-Plans pasture near Verbier. Don’t take too long though as the cows are ‘selling out’ fast!

If you decide to sponsor one of the Swiss cows, you will be entitled to unlimited visiting rights throughout summer.

Free cheese!

Sponsors visiting their ‘Summer Queens’ will also receive an exclusive 5kg AOP Alpine cheese from their Queen’s pasture, worth CHF100 (around GBP90).

‘Precious Alps’

EdelAlp, meaning ‘precious Alps’, promotes and supports mountain agriculture. It was set up in 2020 by Camille Besse (24 years old) and Samuel Balet (24 years old) at the Valais Business Team Academy.

The ‘My Summer Queen’ sponsorship programme was created to provide a local and sustainable impact on the region by offering support to farmers and enabling the public to share the unique experiences of Alpine life.
