In the canton of Valais in Switzerland, close to the well-known resort of Zermatt, this traditional Alpine village offers access to over 100km of marked slopes . The absence of motor vehicles in the village - only electric taxis are allowed on the narrow streets - ensures a relaxing atmosphere that allows visitors to appreciate the wonderful views afforded by the elevated location. A variety of attractions


With most winter sports taking place between 2500-3500 metres above sea level, snow is guaranteed in this area; one of the reasons that it is so popular. Snowboarders love the village as it boasts an excellent boarding park. RESORT highlights

New for 2016/17

The ancient 4-seater gondola to Spielboden is being changed to a 10-seater gondola with a mid-station at Bifig near the base station of the Felskinn cable car. The ride time will be almost halved, to 8.5 minutes. The Ice Pavilion, carved out of the glacier, is being renovated.
