Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of the Store Ringheim. Once a working farm, this beautifully preserved property is situated at the base of the Hangur Mountain, surrounded by the serene Norwegian countryside. With a history deeply rooted in agriculture, many of the hotel’s bedrooms are housed within former farm buildings dating back to the 18th century.
With a rich history dating back to 1778, the farm’s heritage is woven into every detail of the property. From the beautifully preserved wooden beams in the Old Farm House to the farm-to-table dishes served in the restaurant, each aspect pays tribute to its past.
As part of its commitment to honouring its cultural significance, Store Ringheim is a proud member of the Historic Hotels of Europe; the association celebrates hotels that maintain the distinct character and traditions of their locations, offering guests an opportunity to immerse themselves in the charm of local history.
Store Ringheim is a small boutique hotel with only fifteen rooms split across two buildings. The Old Farm House Gardshuset dates back to 1860 and is the former lairds house with each of the unique bedrooms being named after what they were called before it was converted into a hotel; you can find the old living room, the kitchen and the attic, amongst family members' former bedrooms.
The farmhouse has two double junior suites, two double superior rooms and a four bed room in the attic, each unique in design with exposed beams and a more rustic feel to them.
The Reiskapshuset is the more modern building, the former Tool Shed houses nine bedrooms named after the mountains surrounding Voss, each furnished in a quaint modern style with white panelling, ornate fixtures and bright pops of colour.
