Near the centre of town, this hotel is built on a stone platform right in the Dora river, so it's in a really unique spot. And getting on the slopes is easy – you can walk there in 10 minutes, or hop on the bus just outside the hotel if you don't fancy the walk.
The Miramonti is sunshine yellow on the outside, and it stands out against the white of the surrounding snowy mountains. Inside it's light and bright, and there's a traditional alpine feel with plenty of natural wood, stone and handmade furniture.
In the Dora Restaurant and Café, the stone archways, big wooden doors and rustic tables and chairs give the room a cosy, cave-like atmosphere. Big windows frame La Thuile's slopes in the distance, so if you nab a table by the window you're in for a meal with a view.
And the restaurant doesn't just hit the mark on the décor – your mealtimes are sorted too. Choose from pastries, cereals, yoghurt, bacon, eggs and cakes at the buffet breakfast every morning, and when you're back from the slopes, you can fill your boots with a 4-course evening meal. Afterwards, get a drink from the bar and head to the lounge to cosy up by the fire with a nightcap.
